The Green Wall is a big touch screen that engages the user by providing some basic info about the Eco2 project and then gives the possibility for the user to take a picture of himself/herself that will be added to the The Green Wall among the photos of the previous users. If the user provides an email address the photo will also be sent to that address with an link to the Eco2 website.
Location
The screen would need to be placed at a public space somewhere in the center such as keskustori.
Target Group
The target group is broadly all the citizens of Tampere but more specifically it is still targeted toward younger adults.
Strategy
The strategy is to raise awareness of the Eco2 project in an engaging (touch screen interaction) and personal (photo of the user) way.
The Green Cloud is an interactive instalation project involving a big screen display in the city center (or in more locations through out the city - e.g. at the train station), as well as at a web site, with a cloud that changes according to the input from real time measurements of CO2 emissions.
It would be a simultanious visualisation of how CO2 emissions change in Tampere and it would remind it's citizens of the problem and raise their awareness.
It can incorporate the map of Tampere, (and maybe the cloud could throw the shadows at places where the emisssions are measured) and even change color.There are technical chalenges of making the devices and software automatically output the data and it would demand more technical research. There are some products thatcould be used for the purpose (it's not certain wheather those can be automated):

Most likely, it would output only meaurements from several or several hundreds most characteristic locations in the city as there isn't any way to measure the emissions accurately for the entire city in real time.
Mybe the display should use solar energy, but it might not work during winter as it's too dark (these possibility should be researeched)...
As the project would be very expensive, possible alternative would be making the project only for a web.
